줄거리
때는 요크 가문과 랭커스터 가문이 잉글랜드의 왕위 쟁탈전을 벌이던 장미전쟁 시대. 존경하는 아버지가 왕이 되길 바라던 요크 가문의 셋째 아들 리처드 3세는 숲속에서 양치기 행세를 하고 있던 랭커스터 가문의 현왕 헨리 6세와 만나 서로에게 이끌리지만, 각 집안 및 주위 가족들과의 마찰 속에 잔혹한 운명을 겪어가게 된다.
